It knows what a bar is

A plain notes app treats your verse as text. This one reads it as rap. Type never lackin', keep the strap in the Jansport and the rhyming sounds colour themselves as you go, so the run through lackin' and strap in is visible instead of something you're holding in your head. Every line carries its own syllable count in the gutter. When bar three comes out at fourteen and everything around it sits at ten, you see the problem on the page rather than in the booth.

Every verse in one place

Songs live in a library you can sort and drop into folders. Label sections as [Verse 2] or [Hook] and fold them shut while you work on one part, so a four minute song doesn't scroll forever. Each song has its own notes page for the stuff that isn't lyrics: the BPM, who's on the feature, what you meant by that line when you come back in March.

Notes that point at the bar

The notes page takes a quote from your lyrics. Highlight two lines, hit quote, and they drop in as their own block so you can write underneath about what that bar is doing, why the second one is weak, which word you want to swap before the session. The quote keeps the wording it had when you wrote the comment, so the note still makes sense after you've rewritten the line six times.

No account, and no AI

You don't sign up. Your songs save to your device the moment you type them. If you want the same notebook on your phone and your laptop you can turn sync on, and that's free too.

There's no AI in it. It won't write a bar, finish a line or suggest where you're going. Looking up a word has never made a verse less yours, so the rhyme finder is fast. Writing the verse is your job, and that's the whole point of keeping a notebook.

It works with no signal

Once loaded it runs offline. Studio basement, tunnel, plane, a phone with 2 percent data left. It opens and your bars are there.
